WWE Elimination Chamber 2018: Final Match Results

While on the road to Wrestlemania, WWE is making a stop at Elimination Chamber, a yearly event that features a hellish main event consisting of six competitors in an enclosed structure, getting eliminated one by one. 2018's PPV is the first time the women will have their own Elimination Chamber match, so that means the WWE Universe will get two Chamber contests for the price of one.

No one has had a worse calendar year in WWE than Bray Wyatt.
Wyatt lost cleanly to Woken Matt Hardy at Elimination Chamber marking one of the more depressing data points in the Eater of World’s horrific slump.

This time in 2017, Bray was pinning John Cena and AJ Styles to win his first ever WWE Championship. But in 2018, at the exact same pay-per-view, Bray finds himself losing to a future WWE Hall of Famer dressed in a 43-year old Impact gimmick’s clothes. While Hary certainly has carries some charm, it’s hard to believe how far Bray has fallen. However, his status for WrestleMania 34 remains up in the air. For his part, Hardy has told fans that he will indeed be back before WrestleMania in New Orleans.

Hardy did recently appear with brother Matt during the RAW 25-anniversary show back in January. When Jeff does make his full time return, it's anticipated that he will assume the "Brother Nero" role that was so popular prior to the Hardy's return to WWE.

In addition, former UFC star Ronda Rousey will be officially signing her WWE Raw contract during the event, so while Elimination Chamber isn't stacked with matches, there's still a lot to look forward to. The event will be coming to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 28 on PPV and the WWE Network. The show will consist of six matches, one of which will take place on the Kickoff show. You can check out an in-depth look at the match card and our predictions here.

Rousey's appearance at Elimination Chamber rekindled her long-running beef with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, which began way back at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 and certainly lends credence to reports that Rousey and McMahon would do battle in mixed tag team action at WrestleMania 34. F4WOnline.com reported shortly after Rousey's appearance at The Royal Rumble that WWE was hoping to team with Rousey with The Rock to take on Stephanie and Triple H, a throwback to their unforgettable segment at WrestleMania 31, and it looks like Kurt Angle could be filling in for The Rock if he's unavailable.

Some will undoubtedly hate the idea of Stephanie being Rousey's first rival. Others surely will love it. But either way, it's the right choice for Rousey's first WWE feud.

Though Rousey reportedly is set to work a schedule that's actually more like what we see Lesnar work, she has been brought in to be a must-see attraction and a huge draw in much the same way Lesnar was. In fact, reports state that the reasoning behind Rousey's contract signing taking place at Elimination Chamber instead of on Raw was that Elimination Chamber ticket sales were down and it was believed that having Rousey on the show could change that.

The challenger for Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal title was decided on Sunday night at Elimination Chamber.

The men's chamber match headlined the show and featured seven of WWE's biggest stars: John Cena, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, The Miz, Seth Rollins, and Elias. We knew ahead of time that The Miz would enter at the start and Elias at six, but the entrance order for the rest of the men was a mystery.

Balor, Miz, and Rollins started out the match. Due to the fact that we had seven men in the match for the first time ever (and only four pods), they had to start with three men. Miz immediately tried to get an alliance with both Rollins, then Balor, to take on the other guy, but both men refused. He even held up the Bullet Club wolfpack sign to Balor, which was pretty funny. Rollins and Balor then both agreed to go after Miz. That didn't last long, though, as all three came to blows.

Cena was the fourth person (first from a pod) to enter the match, and he immediately went face to face with Rollins as Miz and Balor were on the mat. They played up the fact that Rollins beat him on RAW in the gauntlet match as they had a good back and forth exchange, which Cena got the better of. John then hit a double Five Knuckle Shuffle on Miz and Rollins before Balor got involved again.
Roman Reigns ended up coming in at number five, Strowman at six, and Elias (of course) at seven.
There's no way we could summarize all of the greatness that happened in this match, but here are some key moments that lead to the first three eliminations.

  • A big double superplex spot between Rollins and Cena out of opposite corners on Miz and Balor.
  • Balor running into a massive superkick from Rollins.
  • Miz attacking a face to face Rollins/Reigns from behind and spiking Rollins with a DDT.
  • Braun Strowman picking up dudes and using them as weapons.
  • Strowman chasing Miz to the top of a pod and ramming Miz's face into the glass, then throwing him off.
  • Rollins, Cena, Balor, and Reigns all teaming up to finally get Strowman off his feet. All three then lifted Strowman to Roman's shoulders so that Reigns could powerslam him. All four then covered Braun but he still kicked out.
  • Elias held his own when entering the match, but that was short lived once he attempted to lift Strowman to his shoulders.
  • The first elimination came when Strowman pinned Miz following a powerslam. Elias was eliminated next following a powerslam from Strowman. Next was Cena being eliminated, also by a Strowman powerslam.
Our final four was Balor, Rollins, Strowman and Reigns. All of the men continued to try to team up on Strowman, was who was portrayed as an unstoppable beast. Balor got a good run, taking out both Reigns and Rollins for a moment and hitting the Coup De Grace on Strowman for a near fall. However, he walked right into a Strowman powerslam to be the fourth man eliminated.

We were left with two members of the Shield and Braun Strowman. They worked together until Rollins eventually turned on Reigns. Rollins gave him the Buckle Bomb, but Reigns rebounded out of the corner and hit a Superman Punch.

As everyone expected, Roman Reigns will now go on to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Michael Cole sold the fact that Reigns will have the chance to finish "what he started three years ago" when Roman fought Brock at WrestleMania 31.
